Facility Description: Since opening in 1999, Wild Horse Golf Club has been a top 100 course you could play in North America by multiple magazines and websites including Golf.com, Golf Digest, Golfweek, and many more. It boasts an awesome 18 championship golf course, a full pro shop, busy food and beverage operation, amazing practice facilities, lodging on site, and additional catering in the community.

Job Title: Chef

Definition: Responsible for the kitchen operations and success including cooking, training programs, personnel management, quality control, specials, ordering, budget maintenance, and compliance of regulatory issues. The Chef will report directly to the Director of Golf.

Compensation: Total Compensation estimated at $47,000 per year. $16-$20/ hr. based on experience, $2,000-$8,000 commissions, $1,000-$5,000 bonus/gratuities, 3% Simple IRA match after 2 years, individual life insurance, family membership to the club, discounted food, beverage, and merchandise.

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to operate the equipment found in most bar and grill atmospheres. Be a self-motivated problem solver, observant, with good verbal communication skills. Qualified individuals must also possess strong culinary skills and demonstrate some computer skills. Previous experience as a Chef, Sous Chef, or Cook is required. Individuals applying must also have a Valid Driver’s License, be legally able to serve alcohol, and a food handler’s certificate is preferred. A two-year degree or certificate from an undergraduate college is recommended.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES, REQUIREMENTS, AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The duties and responsibilities listed below are not meant to cover every job requirement and may be changed from time to time.

  • Help assist with a facility takeover and expansion in the coming 1-5
  • Expect 50+ hours per week from April-November and 20 hours per week from December-March on
  • Responsible for all phases of kitchen activities and operations.
  • Administers and enforces all Club rules, regulations, and policies for
  • Works closely with the Director of Golf to operate kitchen in a fiscally responsible and professional
  • Assists the staff in Food & Beverage any way possible, including customer service, bartending, food handling, cost controls, cleanliness, events, and maintenance
  • Recruits, supervises, and retains kitchen staff while also assisting in the management of seasonal
  • Excellent cooking skills along with management of your
  • Provides technical, operational, and safety training for employees to ensure that staff are working within OSHA, club safety, state, and federal guidelines for safe work
  • Efficiently places orders and determines the selection of food the club will provide along with inventory control and reporting.
  • Responsible for quotes for events at the club and catering in the community. Must work closely alongside our Director of Golf, Director of Guest Operations, and the Bar for
  • Maintains records and completes required reporting. Order parts, supplies, and equipment as
  • Helps to schedule staff around member play, guest play, events, and outings to maximize efficiency and minimize disruption.
  • Interpersonal skills to resolve conflict and work with supervisors, officials, employees, members, and the public.

Knowledge of the game of golf, golf rules and methods of play are a plus.
